James is looking to get into the jewellery industry, ideally through an apprenticeship.
After successfully completing year 12, James jumped straight into studying engineering science at Flinders University. Realizing shortly after that it was not a passion, he left university searching for the perfect career.
His interest in jewellery was surprisingly sparked from his love of Rubik’s cubes, more specifically, modifying them. Finding, that working not only with his hands, but his fingers was what he wanted to do. As a result an interest in jewellery was found.
In the recent months of discovering an interest, James really developed a passion. With the help of multiple Australian Jewellery Suppers – AJS workshops and most recently, studying with Master Silver and Goldsmith Jacques Fabian from the Academy of Jewellery Manufacture and Design in Strathalbyn. James has also acquired some basic lapidary skills thanks to the Southern Rockhounds Gem and Mineral Club.
